A pressurised supply line doesn't leak — it delivers. A half-inch line can push several hundred gallons into your home in an hour, and it will keep doing it until someone closes a valve.
If that's happening now: shut off your main, then call +1 (201) 277-9344. We'll talk you through the valve if you can't find it, and a crew will already be moving.
Water actively spreading? Call now — every hour widens the damage and the bill.

What a burst pipe looks like from inside the house
Sometimes it's obvious. Often the first sign is somewhere far from the actual break.
Water appearing along a wall base with no fixture nearby
Water travels inside the wall cavity and exits at the lowest gap — frequently a room away from the failure.
A sudden drop in water pressure
Pressure that falls off across the whole house means volume is escaping somewhere between the meter and your fixtures.
The sound of running water inside a wall
Distinct and continuous, audible with everything shut off. That is pressurised water escaping.
A ceiling stain that grows while you watch
An upstairs or attic line failure. The drywall is holding a reservoir — stay out from under it.
Water pushing out from under cabinets or the base of a wall
The failure is behind the cabinet or inside the wall, and the cavity has filled to the point of overflowing.

Why pipes fail in Rancho Cucamonga
Freezing gets the headlines nationally, and it does happen here — the city's record lows sit in the mid-20s, and higher-elevation neighborhoods like Haven View Estates and upper Alta Loma can hit it on a clear winter night, particularly on exposed exterior lines, hose bibs and pipes in unheated garages.
But most of what we clean up here has nothing to do with cold. Three other causes dominate.
Pinhole corrosion in copper. Inland Empire water is hard and chemically aggressive toward copper. Over decades it pits the pipe wall from the inside until a pinhole opens. Once one appears, others typically follow on the same run — which is why a second and third leak within a year is a repipe conversation, not a repair conversation.
Age plus water pressure. Much of Rancho Cucamonga's housing stock dates from the 1980s and 1990s, putting the original plumbing at 30–45 years. Combine aged copper with high static pressure or a failed pressure regulator and you get sudden splits rather than slow weeps.
Connectors and flex lines. The most common failure we actually respond to isn't the pipe in the wall at all — it's a braided supply line under a sink or behind a toilet, a washing machine hose, or an icemaker line. These have a service life measured in years, and they let go without warning.
The first ten minutes are worth thousands
Here's what to do while we're on the way.
Close the main. In most Rancho Cucamonga homes it's on the street side near the meter box, or on the house side near the front hose bib or in the garage. Turn it clockwise until it stops. If the failure is under a sink or behind a toilet, close that fixture's angle stop first — it's faster.
Cut power to affected rooms at the breaker panel. Never wade through standing water to reach a panel.
Open the lowest faucet in the house after the main is off to drain the remaining pressure out of the system, so the pipe stops discharging.
Photograph everything before you move it. The water line on the wall, the failed pipe or connector, every affected room, the contents. This is the evidence your claim rests on.
Don't run fans or the HVAC. You'll spread moisture and, later, spores into rooms that are still dry.
What we do
Burst pipe jobs almost always follow the same shape. Extraction of standing and sub-surface water. Controlled release of water trapped inside wall cavities — small inspection openings rather than blanket demolition where the water category allows. Removal of soaked carpet pad and any drywall below the wet line that can't be dried in place. Then structural drying against daily readings, and rebuild of drywall, texture, paint, baseboard and flooring.
We coordinate the plumbing repair with a licensed plumber, so you aren't managing two trades. And if the same house has now produced two or three pinhole leaks, we'll say plainly that patching the third one is throwing money at a system that's telling you something.
The insurance angle
A burst pipe is close to the textbook definition of a covered loss in California: sudden and accidental discharge. This is the water claim carriers expect and routinely pay.
Two things protect that outcome. First, act promptly — your policy obliges you to mitigate further damage, and a documented same-day response is exactly that. Second, document the failure itself. Photograph the failed section of pipe or connector before it's replaced, and keep the old part. That single photo distinguishes a sudden failure from long-term seepage, which is the line carriers use to deny.
Worth knowing: most policies pay for the water damage but exclude the cost of repairing the pipe itself. That's normal, not a denial.

Which pipe failed, and why that decides what happens next
Every burst gets cleaned up the same way. What differs is what the failure tells you about the rest of the system, and that is the conversation worth having while the wall is still open.
Copper pinhole. A small weeping hole rather than a split, caused by corrosion working from the inside over decades in hard water. The significant fact is that the rest of the copper is the same age and in the same water, so a pinhole is a system reaching the end of its life rather than a one-off. Two in a year is the point at which patching stops being good value.
A failed fitting or connector. Braided supply lines, angle stops, push-fit and crimped connections. These fail as individual components regardless of the pipe they are attached to, and the fix is genuinely local — but if one original braided line has gone, the others in the house are the same age.
Galvanized steel. Rusting inward for decades, narrowing the bore and dropping pressure across the house long before anything breaches. When one section goes, others follow, because the whole system aged identically.
A freeze split. A clean longitudinal split, almost always on an exposed exterior line, a hose bib or plumbing through an unheated space. This is the one failure that is genuinely preventable with a few dollars of foam and disconnecting the hose before winter.
We record which of these we found, photograph it and keep the failed component. It matters for the claim, and it is what lets your plumber advise on repair versus repipe from evidence rather than from a guess.
Our process
How burst pipe cleanup works, step by step
Shut-off support on the phone
We walk you to your main valve or the fixture angle stop while the crew is en route — every minute of flow avoided is scope avoided.
Source verification and documentation
We locate the failure, photograph it before anything is replaced, and preserve the failed section for your adjuster.
Extraction
Standing water and sub-surface moisture come out of flooring, carpet and pad the same visit.
Release trapped cavity water
Water sitting inside wall and ceiling cavities is released through small planned openings, then dried from behind.
Dry to standard
Air movers and dehumidifiers are placed to a calculated load and monitored daily until materials hit their dry target.
Plumbing coordination and rebuild
We line up a licensed plumber for the repair, then restore drywall, texture, paint, trim and flooring.

What it costs
What moves the price on a job like this
We won't quote your property over the phone — too many variables. Here's what an honest estimate is built from.
- 1
How long the pipe ran
Ten minutes and eight hours are different jobs. Duration determines how far the water travelled and how much has to come out.
- 2
Where the break was
An accessible under-sink connector is straightforward. A line inside a second-story wall or above a finished ceiling means opening, drying and rebuilding finished surfaces.
- 3
Hot side vs. cold side
Hot water raises material temperature and accelerates damage to flooring adhesives and finishes, often widening the affected area.
- 4
Repair vs. repipe
A spot repair is a plumber's small ticket. A repeat-failure system may justify a partial or whole-house repipe — a very different number, and usually not covered by insurance.
- 5
Rebuild scope
Drywall, texture matching, paint and flooring replacement drive the back half of the invoice once drying is complete.
The on-site assessment and written estimate are free. See our Rancho Cucamonga, CA cost guide for typical ranges.

Why Rancho Cucamonga homeowners call us for this
Five things we commit to on every job, before we ever pull into your driveway.
60-minute dispatch, from inside the city
Our crews and equipment stage off 11190 White Birch Dr in Rancho Cucamonga — not a regional hub an hour away. On burst pipe cleanup that arrival gap is the difference between drying in place and demolition.
Every job run to the published S500 standard
Every job is run to the published industry standard for water damage restoration, with a documented dry standard established from your own unaffected materials — not a technician's judgement about what feels dry.
Adjuster-ready documentation on every job
Timestamped photos, moisture maps, daily drying logs, equipment run hours and a written scope, delivered in the format carriers expect. We speak to your adjuster directly so you aren't the middleman.
Extraction through rebuild, one contract
We don't dry your property and hand you a list of subcontractors. The crew that dries it puts the drywall, texture, paint, baseboard and flooring back, under one point of contact.

FAQ
Burst Pipe Cleanup questions
The pipe burst but the water is off now — do I still need you?
Almost certainly yes. Stopping the flow doesn't remove what already went into your floors, walls and cabinets. Materials that stay wet for 24–48 hours start growing mold, and drywall wicks moisture upward long after the surface looks dry.
Why did my pipe burst if it doesn't freeze here?
Freezing is only one cause. In the Inland Empire, the bigger ones are pinhole corrosion in aging copper accelerated by hard water, high system pressure on 30–45 year old plumbing, and failed braided supply lines or washing machine hoses. Exterior hose bibs and garage lines can still freeze on a cold foothill night.
Will insurance cover a burst pipe?
Sudden and accidental pipe failure is a standard covered peril on most California homeowners policies. The usual exclusion is the cost of repairing the pipe itself — the resulting water damage is what's covered. Photograph the failed section before it's replaced and keep the old part; that's what separates a sudden failure from gradual seepage in the adjuster's eyes.
I've had two pinhole leaks in a year. Is that normal?
It's common and it's a warning. Pinhole corrosion doesn't happen in one isolated spot — when a copper system starts failing, the rest of that run is usually in a similar condition. At that point a repipe conversation with a plumber is more economical than a third patch, and worth having before the next failure picks a worse location.
How long does burst pipe cleanup take from start to finish?
The plumbing repair is usually same-day once a plumber is on site. Extraction and drying equipment go in the same visit, then drying typically runs three to five days against daily readings. If the wall had to be opened and drywall removed, add a few days for texture, paint and baseboard after the drying verifies. A contained single-wall failure is often a week end to end; a line that ran for hours across several rooms is longer.
Do you repair the pipe, or do we need a plumber as well?
The pipe repair is done by a licensed plumbing contractor — it is a separate trade and a separate licence classification. We handle everything the water touched: extraction, opening and drying the cavity, removing what cannot be saved, the mold work if the leak ran long enough to need it, and the rebuild. We coordinate the plumber into the schedule so you are not managing two trades around each other, and the plumbing invoice describing what failed becomes part of the claim documentation.
